OLWG #146- Poetically Just

This week’s prompts are at the bottom. The words below are written just for practice. Practice makes perfect.

Here’s how to play along, if you are unsure.

The people here, well they’re just folks

Nancy smiled at him before ducking out the door, “If you need anything, just whistle”

He stood in the middle of the square looking to the world like he just got off the boat

Marcus threw the rock at the streetlight just for the hell of it

I got out and checked the tire; just my luck, it was flat

Eileen looked in the mirror and dug in her purse for a lipstick, she wanted it ‘just right’

Eldon looked past the light squinting at the cop, “Well,” he said, “it just so happens that I was in Poughkeepsie on June twenty-third”

I saw her just now, at the market, in the produce aisle

This is exactly what I needed, it’s just the ticket

Just take what’s offered and be grateful

Blind justice

Winona tucked her order pad back in her apron pocket, “Leave it to me, Honey,” she said, “I’ve got just the thing”

Dennis looked at his reflection and made sure that his hat was tilted ‘just so’

“The library, you say? Well the library’s just around the corner”

Anita wanted to be more than just another pretty face

There’s more to it than that. That’s just the tip of the iceberg

Ozzie knew it would be only a matter of time before he got his just desserts

Kate raised the handgun and fired three times; after all she could take ‘just so much’

It’s just as well; I didn’t have the money anyway

If you really must know, your father was a travelling salesman who was just passing through

Jeremy grimaced as he reached out, “If I can get just one more”

Here, take this, just in case

Just man enough
Just brave enough
Just gay enough
Just happy enough
Just bored enough
Just tough enough
Just pretty enough
Just mean enough
Just enough
Just enough

This week’s prompts are:

  1. I’ve never been alone before
  2. Dipping my toe into the bright colours of the sunrise
  3. Miriam Ortiz Uribe

  1. Go ahead and dive in, set your imagination free!

  2. Write something big, Write something small,
    Write something
Ready, Set, Go – you have 25 minutes, but if that is not possible, take as long as you need and, have fun!

  1. Oh my.. I do smell more than just a weekly challenge brewing here… So many amazing opening lines. So many tales waiting to be told. Is enough really ever enough? Hmmmm….

  2. Actually, that’s a new logo, right? Your handiwork? The header I’ve seen before. TN as a tot, I presume, sporting one of his mother’s bowl cuts 😉
