OLWG #112- Three Short Poems

This week’s prompts are at the bottom.
Practice makes perfect. Let me know what you think.

Here’s how to play along, if you are unsure.

i found you were gone,
yet
you left lies
for me to find
in our bed
all tucked in
the covers pulled up
up to their chins
they looked so sweet,
so innocent,
i was afraid
to wake them

###

When you left
you left your lies behind

a house of cards

###

I found a lot of them at first
under the bed
in the cupboards
behind the couch
the obvious ones are discarded now, but
occasionally I still stumble
across lies you left for me to find
in the most unlikely places

This week’s prompts are:

  1. it’s a circus out there
  2. on her 22nd birthday
  3. don’t send any more letters

Go ahead and dive in, set your imagination free!
Write something
Ready, Set, Go – you have 25 minutes, but if that is not possible, take as long as you need and, have fun!

  1. I really like the imagery. It is evocative and so true to the reality to how many betrayals reveal themselves; the small, seemingly innocuous, but hurtful ways.
